AIWEFA believes in Capacity Building of women to enable them to be self reliant, economically sound and face conflicts and difficult situations in life apart from becoming aware of many matters, skilled, literate and learn to seek information. Various kinds of training programmes are undertaken under several projects implemented by AIWEFA from time to time. A few of them are:
Legal Awareness Programme
AIWEFA implemented a two year training programme , sponsored by Ford Foundation on “ Legal Awareness” in 18 Haryana Villages in 1999
Masala Making Training
AIWEFA sponsored training of women from Chattisgarh for “Masala Making” at Annapurna Mahila Mandal, Mumbai, in 2002.
Women’s Empowerment Programme
AIWEFA organised a teaching programme as a joint venture with Sat Krishna Trust to “ empower women” in 2002
Computers for Schools Programme:
AIWEFA imparted basic computer training to nearly 1500, MCD/NDMC school children under its “Computers for Schools” programme” in 2002-2005
Educational Courses:
AIWEFA held Computer Literacy, Computer Applications, Basic Literacy, Adult Education, Non Formal Education and Coaching classes etc. in adopted villages of Haryana, under the Village Adoption Project sponsored by GAIL for three years ( 2002-2005) and AIWEFA is holding similar classes at its Gender Resource Centre.
Health & Nutrition Camps
AIWEFA organized these camps under GAIL Project and is holding similar camps at its GRC.
Traditional Birth Attendant (TBA)
AIWEFA held a training workshop for Traditional Birth Attendant (TBA) in adopted villages of Haryana.
Build Toilets
.AIWEFA trained 25 village-households to build toilets in their houses with the help of technical guidance from Sulabh International.
Vocational Training
AIWEFA gave training in Beauty Culture , Cutting Tailoring & Embroidery and Handicrafts to several batches of young girls in adopted villages for three years and is continuing with similar training classes at its GRC.
Capacity Building
AIWEFA provided career guidance, guidance to form SHGs, training in Banking and Marketing practices to the villagers and is providing the same at its GRC. |
